I'm pretty sure it's adaptive. If you do some town driving, it drops quickly, then increases after a longer motorway journey |

That would be an algorithm-based system at work then. Much like social media, it assumes that if you're doing X now then that's what you'll keep doing and make recommendations accordingly. Change your behaviour and see a different suggestion. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi, I’m sure there’s a brain in the car somewhere that looks at how much extra fuel is put into the system to improve DPF re-generation. It probably works out how many extra doses its has done and calculates at what point it will be excessive and estimates time or mileage. As it’s a forward projection, it can go up or down! I used to do 100 ml commute , sometimes 200 mls to another site so mine didn’t need to re-gen too often, If I was running round locally then it varied!
