Not sure how much JB Weld can tolerate tropical temperatures |

Not the first I’ve seen, seems more common on the early 3.0’s. They’re 2.7 parts carried over and were updated in later years. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

If the throttle body & duct are carry overs from the 2.7L, they are probably not strong enough to handle the higher temperatures and pressures of a twin turbo 3.0L |

Pretty much it. Like I said, they were updated later and aren’t as problematic. So if you buy a new one for the gosh awful price they ask, it will be the updated version.

it's 14 years old, plastic and has lived through thousands of heat cycles. Not entirely surprised it's failed. Wait until you hear about the inlet manifolds! Sold my Jaguar when they went.

It's the plastic welding that broke, not the actual body. The weld was not even consistent all round the plastic flange, hence "cr*p" |

I think the term is 'fit for purpose'. After all, it worked perfectly for well in excess of it's design life.
