2017 RRS - apologies as I know this is a topic well discussed but I can’t find an exact answer.

2 days ago my tailgate was working fine, powering up and down etc, then yesturday It just stopped working.
I thought it might be the battery so I charged that but no luck.

It unlocks but then I have to lift and close it manually (which I don’t like as it feels like I’m forcing the struts). There is no soft close actuator sound but it does lock if I push hard enough , could this be the actuator motor? Would that stop it from powering open and closed? Before I buy a new one I wanted to check. I assume it’s not the struts as it would still try and work?
