Land Rover fluids/oils recommended

I just bought 2016 RR Sport Supercharged 5.0 V8 (GA597312) with 57k miles and 90 days of limited warranty from Autonation.
It seems rear differential oil (every 5 yrs needed) was never replaced. Need help with two things:
1. What oil is LL recommended for this application? And how can I verify that by myself? Owner manual has only engine oil info. VIN web search is very unclear about fluids.
2. Is a seller (bmw dealer in my case) responsible for such missed compulsory maintenance? The given warranty doesn't cover cases if the vehicle was not maintained accordingly. So, any dif issues automatically withdraw and it worries me a lot. There are also missed transfer case oil, spark plugs and supercharger belt replacements.

Appreciate any advice on it.

Do you have a open rear diff or a electronic locking one ? as they use a different spec oil in each.

I think you would be very lucky if any dealer would accept responsibility for previous missed service item's on a used vehicle, that would be down to the previous owner not having it done I would think.

Cheers
Col

If you have Dynamic mode, then it's a locking diff.

You can find the oil specs in the WSM, link in my signature below Thumbs Up

On a personal note: when I buy a 2nd hand vehicle, the first thing I do is change ALL the fluids. This way I know the baseline for any trouble that may arise during my ownership.

IMHO, changing fluids is cheaper than having to repair/replace an engine, gearbox, transfer case, diffs, etc. --

naks,
thanks. I got a lot of information.
I have a dynamic mode. But how can I understand if I have the ETM unit (attached)?
Castrol SAF-XO - 75W/90 vs Castrol BOT 720?

Also, Castrol BOT 720 has two different bottles:

Dynamic mode means that it has the ETM version.

You can also look at the 4x4 information screen - it will show the diffs locking & unlocking. --

IIRC, you access it by selecting the "4x4 Info" button on the touchscreen home menu.

Then put it into low range, rock crawl, and drive diagonally over a curb or small incline, you should see the diffs locking/unlocking.

Until you confirm which diff you have, hold off on the oil change.

Or take it to a land rover specialist and get all the fluids changed? --

4x4 Info

I have locking. There are two locks on the screen - dif and transfer case.

I found one more bottle LR019727 - this one is from LL and I trust it more than Castrol, Atlantic British shows that it fits my vehicle. Any thoughts on it?

Choose oil is a trouble. Overall, I'm frustrated with LR - I cannot even find how many horse powers, torque, what the engine is, and other tecnical info using VIN. I had BMW and this was not an issue
