2012 L320 valve block seals

Hi all,

Has anyone replaced the front seals on an AC valve block?

My front hydraulic pipes took a dump last week 2 No. splits on the section just behind the front wheel) and the car bled to death outside of Tesco. I managed to get it home and have sourced the replacement pipes (an eye watering £708 from the main stealer - I could've gotten them cheaper, £610, but need the car fixed by Tuesday to use it for towing and no-one could guarantee delivery).

Anyway, whilst removing the stubborn front pipes, I managed to kill one of the seals - the top one of all places!!. I can get replacements but my question is, has anyone replaced them and how was it removed. Also, how easy is it to install the new seal?

Car is currently one axle stands looking very forlorn.

EDIT.

I have just managed to find this whilst looking for something else!!

Hi i used a 10mm slide hammer that removes all the old seals.
The new seal kit for 1 pipe only is around £25 per seal kit comes with the fitting tool,
You just need a hammer.
I suggest you use a straight hand reamer to remove all the build up on the pipe entry into the valve block, and lightly oil the new seals with the ACE fluid to help them enter the valve block

Hi A4j1s0,

Thanks for the reply. Did you just screw the 10mm bit straight into the plastic seal? What's to stop the plastic from breaking?
