the bolt pattern between the engine block and gearbox are different.

Thanks Andy. But could I use the crankshaft only, then? Mine didn't spin in. But the conrod bearings must have been ruined in the process. |

I'll be doing that. Removing pipes, turbo... but I'd like to refurbish it properly when the engine's off, which I have to do now, but living such a long way away and having not much TDV6 around, if the innards are the same, I'd like to use them. |

At a halt for the time being. 2.7 HDI won't fit as Andy afore-mentioned. So I'll have to go for a JAg or RR bottom end or engine, to make it more simple. |

Sure I remember a post about somebody using a later Ford Territory 2.7 TDCi engine if any of these around over there, haven't the faintest idea what is involved in swapping over any bits, parts etc. seem to recall something about that engine having uprated crank etc. as well. Could do a search as see if anything shows up.
