Parking brake fault on 2017 RRS

Hello everyone, got a new problem. Today we took our 3 yr old grandson to a Xmas party & got in the RRS to come come & there’s a orange warning message on the dash saying PARKING BRAKE FAULT followed by another message saying PARKING BRAKE NEEDS TO BE CALIBRATED. I’ve googled what I can & found a couple of videos showing how to calibrate the parking brake but it doesn’t work & I think something is more serious than a calibration. Hooked my Autel maxilink 685 up to it & got code C2005-77 which when googled points to a right actuator. Would this actuator be the cause ? I ask because you don’t always get the truth from a code reader !! Any advice would be appreciated thank you 🧐😎Bob

Hi, there is a sequence to calibrate the parking brake. Hold the brake pedal. Press & hold the brake pedal while pressing the parking brake button. Hold for 10-15 seconds until you hear the EPB motor operate or feel the brake engage/disengage. Turn the ignition off & on again to see if the fault warning clears.

Thank you for your effort, however i tried that method and it did not work, another method was given to me that the actuator might be at fault,i will check to see if i have a loose connection on the actuator and post the result. Thanks again

Here is an update on PARKING BRAKE FAULT, like i said i saw this on ...... the problem was the EBA,
i remember after changing out the rear brakes i also changed out the EBA on both sides, on the right side a part of the clip broke so the plug was not seated firmly, i used tie strap to hold it in firmly and there you have it no more fault light, that plug for the Actuator must sit very firm if not you will get fault code.

I recently changed my rear discs and pads and struggled to get the plug to seat in the socket of the parking brake actuators. It took a lot of effort before the retaining clip would lock into position. I appreciate it needs to be water tight, but a softer rubber seat would still do the job. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014
