Yeah.
I’d been hoping to put a Saturday aside, drop it, coat it in hammerite as a pre-emptive measure and pop it back.
From what I can tell it requires specialist tools and more stripping down than I’d attempt on the driveway.

I might look into lanoguard if there's enough access to spray it on top of the panel below the tank. 2021 L494 D300MHEV Autobiography

Just got an advisory on my MOT regarding corrosion on this item. Is it just a 'cover' or is it critical to the support of the fuel tank? RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Critical I believe.
The videos I’ve seen of replacement show the support and tank being removed as a single unit so I assume that’s all that holds the tank to the car. 2021 L494 D300MHEV Autobiography

Yes, the cover holds the tank in place

Mine is rotten too, 2013 5.0 ltr..
car was in for some work 8 months ago and tray was put on back order, still waiting.

I honestly believe they make it unavailable thinking it will sway customers to trade in for a new model!

Got under the car to replace the fail item, a lower suspension arm dust cover, and had a look at the tank covers. Surface rust only, hardly worth an advisory.
No way I'm removing them, however a bit of protection can never go amiss.
Bearing in mind its accessible on one side only, any suggestions as to the best treatment?
Note also this will be done with me on my back. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

Cheers, do you know if it can be applied via a garden sprayer? The type you pump up and use on weeds etc? RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014
