DPF sensor.

Sods law strikes again.

I had the car in at Range Rover World last week for all of the transmission fluids to be changed, but on the way to France from Lincoln I got a check engine lamp just after filling up with fuel.

The code showing on my Gap IID is P244A-95 DPF Differential pressure too low (bank 1) component failure - incorrect assembly ( E8 )

I've ordered a new sensor but wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

I really wish this had happened before it went in for work at RRW.

Could be a split hose between the differential pressure sensor and the DPF, have a look underneath, the sensor is on a bracket right by where the propshaft mates to the gearbox output flange, just follow the pipes down checking for cracks or splits.

I suppose it's possible that a pipe could have inadvertently been knocked during the work, one of the jobs was new transfer box oil, although I'm not sure if that's close to the sensor. I'll have a look tomorrow. Cheers. A Cheshire expat in France.

I did the job today and fitted the new sensor, as well as a pipe that I managed to split taking it off.
It's all good and running fine.

Just for info'. It can be done by raising the car to off road height and getting on your back. It's a fiddly job though getting the 2 rubber pipes off & back on.

Hi, I’ve the same issue as you had.

Which sensor did you replace and did it cure the fault?

Hi Pete.

It was the exhaust gas pressure sensor, on the exhaust underneath the car, same part as a Jag XF. It definitely cured the fault.

Thanks Les,

Is this the one that the two rubber hoses connect onto?

A black sensor with two plastic outlets on it?

I’ve had the code once, cleared it and it’s not come back up again yet but I’m towing soon and trying to avoid anything with my caravan on the back. 2004 D3 HSE TDV6

Yes, that's the one.
Be careful, when I changed mine I managed to split one of the hoses, I guess they become a bit brittle with age. Luckily the local car shop had some and saved the day.
Good luck. A Cheshire expat in France.
