Is it essential that a faulty EGR is replaced quickly? I believe it will affect the emissions and could fail an MOT?
Is that correct and if so any idea what a Landrover specialist should charge?

If it’s stuck open it could melt the inlet manifold. Further cost.

Any idea what the average cost should be for a Landrover specialist to do the job?

Is it difficult to replace the EGR valve, as i believe it's got to be done as my vehicle could fail the MOT on poor emissions if its left and cause damage to the engine?

A light on the dash will cause an MOT failure.
Probably won’t be an emissions failure though

A cheap fix is to blank them, but that will likely still cause a light on the dash.

That's the problem, I've got an engine management light which comes on intermittently then goes out and the diagnostic test has flagged up a faulty EGR. I don't think I have a choice but to get it changed?. I understand if I don't change the EGR it could cause damage to the engine etc?
