Pivi Updates

Been reading US RR forum and many over there reporting they are now on Pivi 4.1.4 with cars (L460 and L461) from Sept/Oct/Nov last year.

I have not had a SOTA since getting it in Oct 23 and no version shows in menu screen.

Anyone in UK with a SOTA Pivi update with a car of similar vintage?

I have a Dec 23 P460E AB and have not seen any SOTA updates, nor do I see a software version.

Thanks Scrumps - looks like I am about 8 updates behind.

Spoke to master tech at dealer he sat in car and explained issue of TCU not allowing updates. He is resetting now.

This will be for both Pivi updates and Live Apps (the software updates are different) and he said there is often confusion when they say all is upto date because they mean hardware firmware and not Pivi OS.

He gave me a long list of reasons why this happens and he said they often need to ‘unlock’ the TCU to all the OS SOTA to work.

Will update further on progress..

Telecommunications module/unit. Apparently controls all incoming software updates and checks with other modules in car to ensure all conditions are met, ie windows closed etc etc.

Hi,

No indication as to what software version I’m on.

My mapping software is up to date from 10th May 24.

SWMBO’s Defender 90 is on Pivi 4.1.4 dated 15th May 24.

Any news after your TCU reset? How long did it take? (Drop in job or do I have to book it in?)

The reset was only a 45 min job but the file is so large it could take up to 48 hrs to download. Current Pivi version is 4.1.6 but as I still have ‘profile's’ on privi screen rather than ‘accounts’ that indicates I am not fully on v4.

The link you sent shows all incremental updates that we should have. Many of which are steering, suspension or driving aid updates so not just about having latest version.

The maps can be updated via Here on USB and only ‘home’ map is updated OTA. Other country maps in the file stay at original version unless you download from website and install via USB.
