3G switch off

Anything new on this front?

It's been gone a while in the USA and most UK networks are switching off in the coming 12 months. My MY17 works on 3G.

The internal SIM for InControl remote unlocking and climate will hopefully continue over 2G for a while (until that gets switched off too), but I've just bought my annual 12-month cheap data SIM from EE for live traffic on the map, which is (I think) pretty much all I use it for. Is anyone selling a 4G upgrade (either LR or third party)? RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

You can connect the car to your phone internet connection ("wifi" instead of "hotspot") and stay on the bleeding edge of speed or do nothing and enjoy slower connection on 2G, which will last until 2033. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/a-joint...rsificatio

You can also put this in the trunk. https://cellbounce.com/solution-3/ Regards etc.,

If I understand correctly, the below can be plugged into the USB port and should provide a WiFi hotspot to which I can connect my head unit and provide continued data connection now using 4g instead of 3g?

Can anyone confirm this?

The problem with using my phone is the hotspot turns off if not connected for a period of time, so I have to remember to turn it back on which once moving would be illegal use of the handset. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)
