Loose battery connections

Folks

The positive lead, when fully tightened, is loose on the terminal post.

I tried the cheap Censored post covers and threw them in the scrap.

Is there something better I can do, as I have a voltage drop overnight and the car refuses to start? Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5

How do know if the knocking at the front has been sorted?

You can hear the knocking at the rear better

All I can say is.

Loosen the bolt fully
Then push the terminal down fully. Get a hammer, and give it a light tap.
Do bolt up.

Wrap the post in tin foil to increase the diameter or file the clamp so as to allow it to close more .

Had the same issue, used a thin strip of metal to go half way round the battery terminal, opened the clamp up as suggested, and tapped it back over the terminal.

All good now.

I’ve ‘tapped it’ Whistle

I’ll try to wedge something inside before tightening it again, thanks folks. Previously owned 1999 Disco 2 TD5
