Hi

Any suggestions on an honest indie garage to change the Air Suspension Strut Unit on a RRS MY2012 SDV6?

I am around E14, east London.

I have the new struts, just needs someone to fit them for me.

What would be expected in terms of time and costs?

Hi, with all respect, if you have every worked on a car before this is a very straightforward DIY job with basic tools.
(as song as you have a safe way to jack up and support the car.

The question is: I am travelling and currently in London for the week. I will then drive 1500 miles and I don't think I want to do that with the old struts.....driving is like piloting a trawler and I am not qualified for those means of transport.

Fair enough, just didnt want you to be put off doing it yourself. I was a little intimidated by the the whole RR thing but they are actually quite easy to work on - sometimes.

From what I can see on here, most reputable independent garages won't fit customer supplied parts because; a) insurance issues if the part you supplied fails and b) they make a profit on parts they supply which tops up their labour rates.
If it's the rear struts, access to the top nuts is tight and they may be rusty and you really don't want to round them off.

Try Dartford Transmissions and Autocare but Martin may not want to fit customer supplied parts * Current: 2024 D350 Defender 90 on coils!
