I assume it was cheaper to stick a giant iPad in the centre console than it was to have physical buttons, but people thought it looked futuristic so other manufacturers followed suit; and now you can't even change the heater settings without scrolling through eight pages of settings on a touch screen you're fishing for while driving*

| RRSTDV8 Member Since: 12 Aug 2011 Location: Northamptonshire Posts: 9159      | I think the whole idea behind the use of screens is that it's a cheaper way of doing things - it allows you to have the same system in lots of different models in your range without having to have lots of parts, you can change designs more easily too.
