Rear screen question

Hi All,

Recently bought my first Land Rover a 2012 Range Rover Sport HSE, my build sheet says the car had the rear seat entertainment package so I assume this means rear screens?

My car does not have the genuine rear screens fitted anymore it has had professional install of some aftermarket ones Big Cry i guess this was done to increase the connectivity as there is a power adaptor and 3 games console video input cables under the rear bench.

What i can't seem to find is how I would go about connecting the rear screens back to the front screen so it works as it would from factory. Is there anyone who could shed any light on this?

Has anyone done this? Looking at the OEM retrofit guide it appears I *might* be able to connect the rear screens threw a few svideo connectors and adaptors? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Hi, I have tried using the search function but haven't found the info I am looking for. I have been searching searching Web since November. I have also only stumbled across the oem retrofit guide but it doesn't explain how to get rear screens to display video/dvd from the front screen on them.

Anyone have any ideas?

That retro fit guide is for the TV tuner not the factory RSE system, on a 2012 car I think you will find the TV tuner is under the front seat and the RSE module is behind the r/h trim panel in the boot, if you remove the small access cover in the boot panel you can just about see it along with the DAB receiver and audio amp but to get to it you would need to remove the whole panel, may be possible to link the aftermarket screen through it via original module, but not being a audio/video engineer wouldn't know if that can be done. Do you have the original remote control and docking station in the rear armrest?

Cheers

Hi Col,

Thanks for the advice. I have been searching high and low and still be unable to find anything in regards to the rear screens and connecting them up.

I am starting to think it's impossible unless anyone else has some advice or has made it work?

Are you sure your car had the RSE originally ? as Topix has been known to be wrong. As I said have a look at your rear armrest it should look like the pictures below even if it doesn't have the remote in it. I can't think anyone would change the armrest as well if they removed the original screens or remove the headlining transmitter. I believe Chris aka Brit Plumber may have retro fitted a o.e system, might be worth dropping him a pm.

Cheers
Col
