Upgraded rear bumper and now parking sensors not working

Hello everyone,

After having a search on the forums I haven’t been able to find an answer so I hope you don’t mind me asking a question!

I have a 2014 RRS and recently installed a genuine 2019 rear bumper. I used the 2019 sensors and wiring. The reason i used the 2019 sensors is because the holes on the new 2019 rear bumper are bigger than the existing 2014 bumper.

Since installing it I have had no parking aid, including the front sensors. The car also has parallel parking if that is a factor.

Added a little picture Smile

Appreciate any guidance

Welcome to the forum - why did you not use the original 2014 bumper loom I’m sure the parking sensors will fit from the new bumper. That’s definitely where I would start. Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Knowing this is Land Rover we're talking about, anyone want to bet against the wiring of the model years changing? As Peachy suggests, try the original sensor s and loom and make sure that still works. Then try it with the original loom and the new sensors (assuming the connectors are compatible) to make sure that works.

Of course, there could be a calibration routine requirement if there is a major component change. No idea if there is, but again, this is Land Rover. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thank you for replies. Sorry for late reply, I have been out of it due to catching Covid.

Peachy, I couldn’t use the existing sensors as Bodyshop said the holes in the new bumper were to big. The sensor looks same size but the 2019 bumper has what looks like a surround around the sensor making it bigger.

Red Arrow, should you be able to disconnect 2019 sensors from surrounds and plug in 2014 sensors would you know?

RRSTDV8, yes will ask the body shop to give that gap and try existing look and go from there.

Thanks

Not sure to be honest ref your question, is it not the rubber surround part thats the difference in the hole size ?
Either that or the 2019 bumper had cameras ?
Tyrefiiter will know the answer Thumbs Up
