Just out of interest, does anybody know if they do a gearbox reset after oil change/flush? as well, easy enough if have IID tool I suppose just wondered.

I think some do and some don't. Personally, I never have. My reasoning behind this is that sometimes, after resetting the gearbox adaptations, the gear changes can be a little harsh and it can hold onto the gears a little longer than usual, whilst the gearbox is learning the optimum adaptation values.

As the gearbox is always constantly learning and adapting to the driving style and also adapting to the degradation or indeed, improvement, in fluid quality, the end result would be the same. Not resetting the adaptation values however, would avoid any harshness in the gear changes whilst the gearbox is optimising itself.

The above is just my theory after pondering over the same question previously. Kev

Seems a reasonable theory Kev only really asked as happened to read this in IID tool manual, although doesn't say L320 figured the 6 speed transmission is same as the L319 Disco 4 and wondered if it did make any real difference.

There's been no sign of any change in the profile of my gearbox following the recent Powerflush so I guess my Indie didn't reset anything. They certainly didn't tell me they had done a reset. Robin

We dont actively reset adaptive values, unless requested by the customer. Most people do notice a difference in shift quality after around 100 miles or so of driving

Anyone who doesn't notice a difference in gear changes have had their oil changed on time (not late )
