So I eventually removed the butterfly housing (don’t know why I didn’t do it in the first place) and managed to get the spindle out on the bench.....just. This did allow me to wash out all the oily gunge that was in it.

I had mine done at my indie. Far to cold at this time of year to be rolling around. Glad you made progress though |
