2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I thought that I had posted in June that mine was delivered on 12th June. Now late July it’s a brilliant car but has been having its problems that those who follow Defender2.net will have read. I’ve had two problems - one is inherited from the previous Defender - I have rain water leaking into the rear offside passenger door window seal that recent new seals has not cured and the roof rail track finishers warped in the sunshine in late June and their ends all curled up. That one has been fixed under warranty but I feared that it would be an on-going problem every sunny day so I’ve had the roof rails and cross bars fitted.
Fuelly.com indicates fuel economy isn’t too bad - last tankful averaged 33mpg in mixed motoring but no commuter type driving.
Some mods are on the way, today a mobile tyre fitter is calling to change my original fit All Season tyres for 20” Duratracs on the original wheels. I have rear recovery rings coming from PowerfulUK and once my local LR dealership can get hold of one, the Warn Electric Winch will be fitted.

Sorry about the splash being sideways somebody sent it to me from an iPad and I cannot get it to rotate.

It’s a lovely car to drive onroad and with the D240 engine has plenty of get up and go and remains smooth and very quiet until you start getting the revs over 3000. This will be a fantastic car to do transcontinental drives in. Seats are superbly comfortable even though they look very wide and flat, they grip well. The car doesn’t handle quite as well as an RRS Dynamic but then it isn’t meant for that sort of motoring. Even with only a 2litre engine I have read over on Defender2 that those who have undertaken long trips with a t’internet on the back say it’s a superb tow car but there are problems with the spare wheel and operating something called an ALCO coupling on caravans and the jockey wheel also can be a problem with clearance being very tight on the spare wheel.
I’ve only been offroad once (last weekend) on muddy tracks and even on All Seasin tyres that come as standard we didn’t struggle on the bits of the run where I thought we might - overgrown track covered with wet grass On a steep uphill that only 3ccars before me in the convoy had driven - I did it in low box and Mud and Ruts setting on the TR, the driver of the other D240 just left his in Comfort and High box and neither of us had a wheel spin despite the treads getting a bit clogged up. One thing I found after getting home though was a huge munger if small gravel bits stuck in the tyre treads even after a 45 miles road trip home. I’ve never seen so much gravel in tyre treads after returning from a trail drive. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Jeep Gladiator vs Land Rover Defender vs Classic Defender vs Rock Garden

- The Gladiator Rubicon is described in another build video. It’s twin-locked with a 2" or 2.5” Lift with 35” tires
- The Defender in the video is a First Edition. It’s totally unlocked, and the only mods are a set of KO2s (Nothing fancy, same size as stock just better grip) and a set of lifting rods which, as you’ll hear in the video, “trick” the suspension into thinking it’s on-road height, when it’s actually lifted. --

A tad quiet on here, so I thought I would post a picture or two of our P400 SE, it is a cracking
motor to drive, and about a month before it’s transition to tourer is complete, mostly down to
the majority of the accessories being on back order for the Australian market

I'll be interested to hear if all of that dark upper surfacing translates to the cabin getting hot in your summer. If it works OK in Oz, it'll be fine in Blighty summers... Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

one of the dealer options i went for was aftermarket window tint rather than LR privacy, as the AM goes
up to the A pillar. That should help cut down a lot of heat, but agree the black roof will make it interesting,
no doubt it will test out the three zone climate Laughing Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Why did you go for dealer aftermarket tint rather than getting it put on yourself - on my last new vehicle the dealer price was about 4 times the price I could get it done for the same tint.

My new second hand vehicle vehicle in a few years time looks good Very Happy
