Steering wheel upgrade

I have a 2007 RRS and I have a 2010 steering wheel. I do have all the boards from blackbox to convert so it all works including heat.
But I stumbled over some steering wheel settings in the CCF file that I can select Limbus instead which is the protocol the newer steering wheel uses. Will it work on Limbus then?

Why would you want to do that? the conversion works perfectly well including Paddle Shift and Acc with the Can Bus system. The reason I ask is I did this conversion years back and don't re-call changing anything in the CCF files. I also thought although they run along side each other the Can Bus system was better than the Lin Bus at least for certain circuits but could well be totally wrong on that one.

Cheers
Col

Search for Fritjof Dittner on Facebook and contact him through messenger. As already said far cheaper than BBS. RRS 2006

Hi

I have just fitted one of these. Just to make you aware, there is a guy on the Discovery owners facebook page called Fritjof Dittner who now makes a cheaper version of the conversion PCB's (£52 delivered to UK from Germany).

They are easy to fit and work flawlessly.

Then you can find any D4 steering wheel on ebay etc and convert it yourself.

Ideally for a D3, you don't want paddles or heated. If you do you have to do more...

I have ordered a 2012 spec heated steering wheel and spent hours reading up on this. I need to get the clock spring and the electronics. I was going to use black box but interested to hear theres someone else offering this.

Any links to this seller as I am not on facebook and does he offer use for the heated steering element as BBS does:

Just found a video of him on youtube:

Yea the facelift 2010-2013 RRS steering wheel can be installed to the older 2005-2009 preface but requires a few bits to do it. Its a job I am tackling soon.

Make sure you get the right clock spring there is only one that will do the heated wheel. LR018556

Needs to look like this.

No, it's a seperate item unless who ever is selling the wheel is selling one with it.

So the clockspring should be the following:

• Clock spring for heated steering wheel LR018556 (9H22-14A664-AA *UG 11 251 0043 0*)

This part number seems to be more commonly advertised: 9H22-14A664-AA *UG 11 251 0043 0 ?
