New D300/350 diesel MHEV engines?

My RRS AB SDV8 is coming to the end of its contract hire in November. Because I'd heard that the SDV8 was being axed, I thought I might go secondhand this time with a good used SDV8 but then I saw the new D300 and D350 MHEV engines on the L-R website. I havent been able to find any driving impressions on these new engines online other than brief descriptions saying they are the latest Ingenium design with MHEV to boost low down performance

Needless to say, my usual L-R dealer has been useless in terms of providing information. In fact one of their salesmen said they were the old SDV6 engine 'with some tweaks'. No demonstrators yet either. Very helpful

Big question for me is whether the D350 engine is an adequate substitute for the old SDV8 engine because to get a car by November it looks like I'm going to have to order now

Anyone know anything about these new engines particularly about the way they drive?

On paper, the new straight six Ingenium diesels with 48v mild hybrid tech look far better than the ageing Ford SD’s in terms of power and efficiency. I have a P400 HST and am impressed with the engine in many ways. The diesels are unlikely to materialise until Q1 2021, thus the lack of reviews.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

There a few P400 MHEV Defender videos on YouTube now. Look for the ones from the Denver Land Rover dealer mostly comparing its off-road ability against Jeeps and Classic V8 NAS Defenders. There’s another by a couple of Canadian lads but you don’t get a huge lot of info on that one. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
