I’m a Roofbox novice, what should I need to know

Hi all,

we’re in the market for a Roofbox having never owned one before, it’s time. On the research I’ve done I’ve seen various styles from square(ish) ones to long aerodynamic ones. The larger literage items with an aerodynamic profile; do they actually have usable space because of the tapering nature of the nose area?. Should we look at a more squared item with potential more usable space.

I have looked at gumtree and the locals but found this website https://www.roofbox.co.uk/roof-boxes/ which offers all styles.

Any advice or experience would be appreciated Thumbs Up 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Hi there, aerodynamic shape helps with the extra fuel you will use and so long as you think about loading it up actually i found them better. Sleeping bags/thick warm coats if camping for the evening around the fire or things that can be squashed can be put at the front and then work backwards from there.Hope my bit helps for what it's worth regards Andy.

Depends on what you want to carry in it, I wanted to carry two sun loungers so that defined the width.

They are noisy and mine, a Halfords one, is limited to 70mph, the crossbars are limited to 80mph, not a problem for us as we normally have a caravan on the back.
