New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

The LE was the Limited Edition of the first of the 2010 facelift Autobiography Sports called the Autobiography LE as they were only ever going to produce 500 cars but decided to contiue production dropped the LE bit and just called it the Autobiography.

Cheers

Is that what the L320 LR advertising call it?

This article calls the pre facelift cars Launch edition.

New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

Were the fist one's not simply called First Edition never heard of them referred to as launch edition by L/R. Whether it is fact or fiction I don't know, but was also told they only produced 380 of the first edition to coincide with the 380 odd bhp of the 4.2 S/C engine, and 500 LE A/B's to coincide with the 503bhp of the 5.0L S/C engine, but that could be complete rubbish.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

At launch in 2005 S/C was available as HSE with some enhancements over the diesel HSE like Brembo brakes and uprated steering rack to take the 20” wheels (diesels could only take 19” Max in first 24 months of production) and First Edition of which worldwide there were 300 Vesuvius Orange, 300 Metallic Black and 300 Chawton White. I have the original sales brochures that I can scan the spec pages if anyone wants them - PM me with an email address that can accept very large files as the brochures are paper versions that I will scan to decent resolution. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

England 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Fuji White

It looks like even LR were confused. In this publication from LR in Sept 10 the LE is limited edition from 2011MY.

A new 211PS version of the 3.0 LR-TDV6 diesel will join the existing 245PS engine in 2011, further enhancing the appeal of the iconic Range Rover Sport. All diesel models are equipped with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) as standard and all meet Euro 5 emissions making them among the cleanest diesel engines on the market. The powertrain line-up is completed by the fabulous 5.0 LR-V8 supercharged as before, offering a combination of supreme power and sublime refinement.

A new Limited Edition has also been added to the range as an alternative to the sumptuously appointed Autobiography Sport. The Limited Edition includes a set of unique interiors, finishes and detailing not available as separate options, while the main range also gains three new colours. The outstanding dynamics of the Range Rover Sport are also improved by the addition of two new Terrain Response features, Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control. "The Range Rover Sport already represents the last word in high performance SUVs and we've made sure it retains that reputation by adding a new 3.0 LR-TDV6 diesel engine version, a stunning new Limited Edition and further Terrain Response enhancements providing even greater security for drivers," said Phil Popham, Managing Director.

I also found references to Launch/Limited Edition in the same articles. And reference to ‘its Launch Edition’ with a link to the Autocar article which says Limited Edition, so perhaps it was later corrected.

In reading about the Editions I found there were quite a few.

First Edition
Stormer Edition
HST (is it an Edition?)
Autobiography Limited Edition
GT Limited Edition
GT2 Limited Edition
Black & White Limited Edition
Black Edition
Red Edition

Any more?

Could the article at top relate to the US GT? Only problem with that is the article states supercharged for the 5.0 whereas I think the GT was a 5.0 N/A unit. 2012 5.0 SC AB

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

The S/C First Edition was also a limited numbers limited edition!
The Stormer LE was based on the S 2.7TDv6 and was missing a lot of kit normally fitted to SE versions
As stated in another post Original HST could be had with any engine but there were factory builds, dealer builds and also home-made versions as you could walk into your friendly dealership accessories department and buy the conversion kit over the counter or on the Bay. Factory builds are the one to gave as they were a proper limited edition with special extras. Dealership built cars were often an S with a stuck on body kit and didn’t have things like heated seats or steering wheel but you paid “special edition” prices.......
There was also a very special 3 door coach built coupe version that was sold by a specialist through a Mayfair showroom at £250000 a pop.
Then there was the Bowler Nemisis- an RRS for offroad racing special but again it was hugely expensive 2 seater GRP body grafted to tubular spaceframe 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think we are getting a little carried away with the term "Limited Edition" as opposed to limited production numbers, I can't really believe L/R called the first S/C's the "First Edition Limited Edition" model, never heard of a HST Limited Edition model either they were simply limited production runs but could be market dependent I suppose. The only reference in L/R's part's system for the Sport to the designation LE is the facelift Autobiography variant up to Vin.CA000001 designated as Autobiography Sport LE and that relates to the interior, but even that is confusing or wrong. If L/R say the LE A/B was available from MY11 someone is incorrect as Autocar say it has the 3.6TDV8 and 5.0L engines but L/R dropped the 3.6 engine for MY11 cars. Google LE autobiography for sale and they all appear to be 2010 3.6.TDV8's assuming the are even LE's, so god only knows. Confused

Cheers

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

The very first Special Editions were known as 1st Edition.

The 1st Edition has 5 additional items, namely 20" Stormer Alloys, Sports Leather, Hand Polished Real Lined Oak, Personal Telephone Integration System and a Lower Centre Cooler Box. The vehicles will be equipped with the top of the range features like sunroof, active cruise control etc. Meaning, after the 1st Edition, you could never buy a similar full specs model ever!!

[One could never add on the extras to the non-1st Edition vehicles at the dealers (only factory fitted), thus making the 1st Edition very exclusive.]

Theses 1st Editions were limited in number so obviously exports were limited too. Only 3 units were allocated to Malaysia, 2 Vesuvious Orange and 1 Black. I booked the Black in April 2005. Malaysia Boleh!
4.2SC Chawton White, Stormers
Tasmod's Sills, Wind Deflectors, LR Sills
Clear Side Repeaters, Towbar
Larini Sports Exhaust, K&N Air Filter

That sounds like mine as it has all of those features and I was always impressed with the spec. However, I'm not sure about the "Hand Polished Real Lined Oak" as I always thought mine was "real plastic looking oak" but I'll have to check now! Thanks

2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?
