rrs 4.2 s/c

hi guys,
im new to the forum so go easy lol
i have my heart set on purchasing a rr sport supercharged, iv always loved the look of them and i also like a bit of power to have sone fun😁
now i have around 8k to spend.
iv been looking online at different different rr sports for the last week and to be honest im completely confused by the different specs.
iv been looking at 2007 models to suit my price range but the all differ so much with regards to the in car gadgets.
could someone tell me what the highest spec for that sort of year is?
ideally i would like the dvd players in the head rests and the bembo brakes etc.
i hope this makes sense. thanks

Hi, and welcome.

I think the highest spec. car you can get for around year 2007 would be a 4.2 S/C HSE as I believe they had a few bits extra to the standard HSE like perforated leather seats etc. though not totally sure on that, if its a factory HST version of the s/c it will have the body kit fitted and if I remember they also had RSE and Sunroof as standard and locking rear diff. but can't remember when the HST was actualy introduced, if I'm wrong I'm sure somebody will correct me. If anybody offers you a Autobiography prior to a 2010 it is a fake/lookalike as the A/B was not even introduced as a Sport till then.

Cheers
Col

All SC had brembo

Rear screeens were optional.
Many ppl fit aftermarket but avoid unless you can see it all working

Most SC had sunroof.

Our 05 supercharged is fully loaded. When I bought it I got lucky I suppose as I knew nothing about them - it just drove nicely. The only thing it doesn't have is a heated steering wheel.
The rear dvds work but have only been used for 5 min in two years so a total waste.. Sunroof rarely gets opened. Satnav is never used. TV is useless. Suspension is only operated to make sure it still works..
In my opinion the best thing is the heated front screen.
I have an X5 of similar vintage and that has even more toys on it that are never used.. But it doesn't have a heated screen..

The heated front screen was a Ford only option as I think they copyrighted it. JLR got to use it under Ford ownership. 2012 5.0 SC AB

what x5 do you have i did have a 56 plate 3.0 deisel and to be honest i think its the worst i had ever owned! i had so many electrical faults with it, it cost me thousands.
after owning it for 8 months i was driving across the moor and saw a little river i could drive across so i floored it to get across quick but it didnt work the river was 4ft deep in the middle🤣🤣 insurance didnt want to pay out either 😋😋

My feelings exactly! Used the rear DVDs about 2 times, sunroof barely gets used. Brembo's are excellent. I upgraded the standard head unit to a double din one that has Apple CarPlay but that's about it. Fantastic car when it's behaving and I'll find any excuse to get in it even after 3 years. Good luck and enjoy! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Hi all, I too am after a 4.2 SC like the original poster and I too am also confused by specs haha!
I thought I had it all in hand knowing HST was top spec then HSE, but then you’ve got Overfinch’s and Kahn’s which I believe are mainly body kits? And then for even more confusion I now keep seeing Hawkes- what’s a Hawke??
If anyone could shed any light would be appreciated.
Lastly and sorry for going on but if I was to get a HST does that include every extra or were there still options available above that spec? Tia.

So HSE is the landrover main stream top model

HST has a body kit. You may or may not like it.

Anything else on early model is another company doing tweeks (interior usually) or sticking badges on.
Personally I would avoid these on early models
