As the drive line oil gets changes so infrequently , just use the proper Castrol stuff.

75w90 fully synthetic gear oil with an API service category of GL-5 is what you need for the front diff and also rear open (non-locking) diff.

The locking rear diff has a multiplate wet clutch that gives the locking effect. The oil is chosen to work with that so the correct oil should be provided. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
