I have the same model & year & that worked first time for me - trouble is I keep forgetting & walk up & pull the handle then realise I need to press the Censored button. Rolling with laughter
Did you lock it after ? Or just pull the handle ? Was the drivers door open or closed ?
Good luck Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Deactivating keyless entry

I think you have done half a job, to deactivate , headlamp x3 plus unlock. To rest, headlamp x3 plus lock button

try this, Unlock car..sit in drivers seat.

Press headlight butyon 3 times then unlock button.

You wont notice anything or see any indication..you will know its worked when you try to lock the car using the keyless button / dimple on car door handle or try opening door without using key fob button.

The drivers door must be shut and you must be inside the vehicle - if memory serves. 2015 Range Rover Sport L494 HSE Dynamic

It didn't work to start with on my MY16 because I sat in the car with the drivers door shut. I found the process was to have the drivers door open whilst sat in it. Press headlight button 3 times and then unlock button and this worked a treat Thumbs Up
