My19 or my18

Hi all

How can I tell if my RRS P400 is MY19 OR MY18?
It is a 68 plate registered in Sep 2018.

Was the electric motor upgraded on MY19? or is it the same? What is the material impact?

MY2019 went from 12.4 to 13.1 KWH battery. I dunno when the production date flipped. Put your VIN at the end of this URL and you should see an entry related to ‘model year indicator’: https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lookup/

Presumably the uptick helped JLR get through the emissions testing trauma. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

I researched the hell out of the P400e model! I don't know how i missed that! Model year indicator came back as 2018.

So how do i know if my car has the smaller battery vs. the big one ?

I am asking because i was expecting slightly better MPG over 60 miles, based on what i read and saw on youtube reviews - people quoting around 80 mpg after 90 odd miles before the battery runs out then it drops to 30 odd.

I did a trip of 55 miles with 40 being motorway and 15 greater london roads and got an MPG of 40..which was disappointing given my exceptions were built up from the reviews! wondering if this is because of the difference in battery between MY18/19?

The battery boost is probably equivalent to 1 to 1.5 miles of leccy range. If yours is MY2018 you have to assume it’s 12.4 kWh.

40 mpg sounds alright to me... the P400e is not an economy car, you need the 3.0 diesel for that. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Of course, thats fair enough, its a big car. I was just expecting a bit more given all the reviews and research i did.
I think i probably have the 12.4KWH version, meaning it probably isn't as efficient as the 13.1KwH version ?

Any way to tell for sure which unit i have? Emissions on DVLA say its 64 g/km. I know some RRS P400es have 71 g/km. Maybe thats how you can tell?

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Also your 2018 is from the era of range lying by all the manufacturers, the mpg is based on lab testing in totally unrealistic conditions whereas 2019 will be under the newer testing regime. My own PHEV (not an LR product) claims to have real world range of 28 miles from its 7.2kW battery and > 80mpg - at this time of the year I’m really lucky to see 15miles Range And in pure ICE mode I’m lucky to get An mpg more than 35mpg from its 1.5 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine. IIRC the P400E was originally claimed to be able to average 101mpg...... old system combined, with 31 miles electric range but nobody ever got anywhere near that 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
