BYE BYE JLR

After having owned 2 RR's and for the last 5 years a RRS L494 I have now bought a 2020 model Mercedes GLE 450.
The principal reasons for leaving JLR is more to do with the appalling attitude of and service by local main dealer - Stratstone - who have just lost the dealership but taken over by Lookers who equally do not receive good reviews. Also the reported attitude both in the UK and overseas by JLR to customers has been a major influence. It is a real shame as the product line up is good but quality and reliability issues just too prevalent.

What a contrast it has been to visit a number of Mercedes main dealers. Real and genuine customer focus with a very impressive new model in the GLE. Whilst it is not in the same serious off road league as Landrover vehicles this new Mercedes is more than good enough for most off road needs. It is well worth checking out for anyone thinking of changing their vehicle.

So another lost customer for JLR but will they care? I doubt it very much!

Is that the new Lookers Buckinghamshire that merged three dealers into one (Lookers Jaguar Amersham, Chipperfield Land Rover and whatever Strastone Aylesbury was at that site)?

Whats your thoughts on them? Non JLR Vehicle

I too decided that it was time for a change earlier this year so dropped by a Mercedes dealer and within about an hour and half had bought a new GLE. After living with it for 3 months decided it just wasn't for me so got rid for another Sport.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the GLE but I just didn't get on with it. The technology and the way it integrates with the driver was amazing as was the whole experience of buying and owning it (just a pity the Mercedes dealer doesn't sell RRS)
This was not only my opinion but also my wife's which was a blessing seeing the hit I had to take to change.
Hope you enjoy the new car, they are really good but just not for me.
All the best

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 SE Orkney Grey

Luckily I had a brand new GLE on test for 48 hours and just couldn't get on with it, it is so very ugly from the front and rear, no doubt a very capable and well equipped car but completely soulless. It was a 2ltr diesel costing around 60K so I ended up buying a 2015 full sized Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE for half the price and absolutely love it.

Sorry to hear - I persevered with Stratstone Aylesbury and understand some staff may have moved to the new Lookers dealership - anyone been yet ?

Still a better dealer than my Local Grange Hatfield.

Hope you enjoy the GLE.

I persevered for 3 years before giving up when 5 year service plan finished. Worst dealer I have experienced in over 50 years of car ownership.
Went to a local indie and total contrast - superb service and half the price.

I believe most of Aylesbury staff moved to new site/business.
