Service Plans. on the owner not the car soon?

Hi,
during conversations last week with a couple of dealers and asked about service plans and if available yet Question

both were suggesting in next couple of months they will be available again

BUT

it will be on the driver/owner and not the car, another way to try and keep you in the L/R brand when you come to change cars, although may work out better for some as at least you get all the services you pay for Rolling Eyes

No suggestion of price but did not sound like low hundreds Sad

any one else, heard the same ?

Yes bought my car in March have been asking about service plan randomly when I get chance.

I couple of weeks ago I was told end of June. That will be close to my 90 days to buy one if they are out by then I’ll be asking for it in writing that I can add it later because the service pack was a good deal but the ones franchisees sell you direct are terrible in comparison so I hope the pack is the landrover one.

I think some orders pre the removal of the service pack was honoured even though it had official been removed. I have no other info on it I just hope it does appear and it’s a good deal again.

The LR site has the new service plans, but they only quote for 3 services, so contacted the local dealer as I only want a two service plan, and a bit of a pleasant surprise.
My next service is the second, expensive one, quoted at £767 if you book service online, the third service is quoted as £506, totals £1274, plus the plans include things like adblue top ups, yet the two service plan was £797. 20 RRS P400e HSE Dynamic Eiger grey/Ebony - Gone

Hard to see how this would work, since what would stop someone taking out the plan on a Disco Sport and then using some of the later services on a FFRR where the service costs are presumably more expensive. To avoid that would mean either one price for all (ie Disco Sport subsidises FFRR) or a mechanism whereby you adjust the price partway through if your vehicle changes, which seems more hassle than its worth from an admin perspective.

The new service pack isn’t as good value for money sadly.

They say they refund what you don’t use when you sell the car after admin fees etc I would assume that’s not much but haven’t read the full terms.
