Rear dynamic response (ACE) bar replacement costs

Hi,

Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the rear ACE bar replaced..... Big Cry

I know it's a big job and an expensive part but I also don't have a garage that I fully trust so I'm looking for some ball-park figures for what it should cost to do - all in. I also think that I might have to have the drop links done at the same time because I've heard that these often have to be cut off - is that the case?

If anyone has any experience of how much this work should cost for parts, fluids, labour and vat etc - all in? This will really help me when I talk to my garage.

Thanks!

(L320: Fault codes: C1119-09, C1119-62,C1B11-62 and oil all over the rear bar and surrounds)

You can buy the bar OEM which is about half the price of the same bar with LR stickers on it from an LR dealership. That helps get you to D_M's figure. LR charge £1300 or so just for the bar if you go to them...!

Make sure you get the correct bar. There is one for the 2.7 / 4.2 and one for the TDV8.

https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/rear-ant...3894-c.asp for starters and to see the part nos. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks guys!! Bow down

Really appreciate the quick response and it's been a great help with my negotiations!! My regular garage won't let me supply the parts and they are well overpriced for it. However, I have now found a place that will fit and supply for about the prices you've mentioned - a bit more tbh but a good saving vs what my first garage was quoting!!

It's not fully finalised yet because he wants to see the vehicle first but all being well I should be sorted. Just in case though, if anyone in the Manchester area knows of (or is) someone good/trusted who can get close to these prices for this job then please PM me.

Thanks!! Thumbs Up

hmmmmm another quick question if you don't mind......

Looking at the link (https://bit.ly/2Ym80T2) the rear bar comes in versions for the 2.7TDV6 / 3.6TDV8 / 4.2SC and the 4.4V8..... But I have the 3.0TDV6? (seen it called the 3.0SDV6 - it's the 256hp 8 speed setup).

So which bar for this one?

Also, the picture and image suggest that it comes with the stabilizer links included - would I need to order the mounts/bushes and bolts etc?

Thanks again!

I know it's a bit of a trek from Manchester but for a Land Rover independent specialist try K Motors in Leyland. I've had pretty good service from them for a while now & their labour rates are about half the main dealers.

Russ. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

All done

Just to update: Had this done last week for £1220 all in. Not the sort of bill you expect at <50k miles but it's a hell of a lot better than the other quotes I got!! Very happy with the garage - found through this forum too! For info: 6hrs labour for this job and they said they were able to do it without lifting the body which I'd been told couldn't be done....

Thanks for all your help!!! Very Happy Bow down

Rear pipes too, or only the bar?

Sorry Disco_Mikey - I missed your question.

It was just the bar. They inspected the pipes when I first took it in and said that they looked "fine". They were very positive about the state of the underside overall in fact. Helps that it was dry garaged for the first three years I guess.
