A Few Questions

Morning chaps.
I collect a new to me 2010 RRS this coming Wednesday. Over the past few days in excitement I’ve been watching YouTube videos and reading the owners manuals that I can find online.
I still have a few questions which I could answer for myself when I get the car but like a kid waiting on xmas I have no patience. So ere we go . . . .
How do I know if it has TV or not ?
As the button says Audio / Video will it play standard DVD’s ? Granted no while driving.
What’s the max size USB it can handle for playing my music and what’s the best formatting to use on the USB ? ExFAT ? Or other ?
Does it have DRL’S ? If so is it just the circular LED’s ( they look fab ).
Do they all have the soft close as standard on the tailgate ?
How accurate do you find the parking sensors and the rear camera ?

I’ve probably got a lot more but this will answer some burning questions for me . If it helps it’s the HSE 3.0 TDV6

I think usb stick is exFAT. As for rear sensors and camera I find mine in my 2012 very accurate indeed.

I have a MY2010 and the sensors are good. The camera is okay too, but I don't look at it very often.

Concerning DRLs, you won't have these. However, you will have the LED sidelights which you can use as a psudo-DRL setup. What you can do is wire them up in the interior fuse box so that they are on whenever the car is 'awake' irrespective to the position of the headlight switch. I have done this and it works great.

See here where I helped a couple of the forum members do this with the help of some pictures: https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic53036...p;start=15

You will have the soft close close on the tailgate. This is standard.

Enjoy your new toy Thumbs Up Kev

PS. one of the 'features' you may find annoying is that the rear ceiling lights do not come on when the doors open. This is also very easy to resolve by reversing the wiring on the bulb holders and running a small wire from each of the lights to the light in the boot and wiring up a couple of diodes. 30 minute job and all of the information is available on the forum. Kev

Is this the case ? My 2010 doesn't have a soft close tail gate ?

For clarity, I'm talking about the soft close motorised latch which pulls the tailgate in the final bit so you don't need to fully slam it. I'm not talking about a power lift tailgate which was introduced for MY2012. Kev

Just be aware the stand-alone reverse camera doesn’t have bendy lines, they are fixed so when you ask if it’s accurate, there isn’t much to be accurate about.

With regards to DRLs, I have the Original LR dealer fit DRLs which are good but I’m thinking of rewiring them so that they stay on with the LED side lights. Currently they switch off when the side light comes on. Im also thinking of fitting a dimming module so that as the main beam switches on, the DRLs dim 2012 5.0 SC AB

You get bendy reversing lines if you have the Surround Camera system, and they are surprisingly accurate in my experience. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

If you look at the membership of this forum, there’s a large percentage join, post a few messages and are never heard from again. The OP posted a message of how excited he is, and hasn’t come back, and I’m pretty sure the forum sends out email to advise upon a reply. 2012 5.0 SC AB

The OP has returned, however the OP doesnt have time to respond to each and every post that is put up. I prefer to use my spare time and read the replies and then post. As a user of many forums over the years I see no point in posting for postings sake.
I did reply Saturday morning, its now Monday morning and replying so I only spent one day where I didnt post - and some are losing their minds ? Laughing seriously ?
To everyone who has responded with factual and helpful comments so far thank you, and please keep them coming.
