United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I used the removable one for a while and it was fine but I do a lot of towing over many miles, so decided to get the extra security of the fixed.

I got the TL1 because my LR removable one was just a little "sloppy". It never failed but I could hear/feel that it wasn't 100% rigid when towing the horse trailer. The TL1 just feels more solid when towing. I've also noticed that the ball height is a bit higher than the LR removable one which means the trailer runs behind better. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had the same issued when I bought one. It would not insert all the way.

It was the moving parts in the towbar that needed greasing and eventually it slotted in.

I tow a 3.5 tonne large PSG trailer and have had no issues. 2010 3.0 TDV6 RRS Overfinch GTS

New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

I had same issue when new, just dropped spare wheel and gradually filed lower edge of receiver (very gently) until it locked in nice and snug. Also bought one off the locking plate kit's from Approved Factors to use as a precaution although never had any problems, but that said have never used it for heavy towing on a regular basis.

Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions, you've all been very helpful.
We have ended up buying the Towsure TL1 and fitted it this evening,we didn't want to end up buying another towball and have the same happen so have reluctantly got a fixed one,we go away next weekend so wanted it sorted sooner rather than later,we've also gone for the adapter for now.
