Warranty Direct Claim experience - very positive

Here is my recent experience of a claim with Warranty Direct -

My car went to Lancaster Land Rover for a routine service, I asked them to look at knocking from the front and rear suspension.

They reported back that the front and rear ARB Bushes needed replacing and the front lower arms on both sides needed replacing, total cost to do this was £1,541.94 this includes wheel alignment. This was shown a red action on their health check sheet which means replacement required.

I have a full warranty which includes main dealer labour rates so called WD to report the claim, a very quick call registered the claim, then the dealer was asked to contact them. The next day I received a call from WD to say they would pay out in full but I would have to pay three excesses of £50.00 which seemed fair as they could have claimed that there were 4 separate jobs.

So thank you to all who recommended WD over Land Rover Approved warranty (who certainly would not cover wear and tear or worn out bushes). I highly recommend WD following my personal experience. Apparently they are a Regulated Business so have to do what they say they will - Be Warned many other Warranty Companies are not Regulated! So do everything they can not to pay out.

Strange how you say LR warranty dont pay out on ARB bushes? Been replaced every time, even when they havnt been worn out but are squeaking they have acknowledged the problem and replaced them. Whistle 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

The suspension work has been done and the dealer invoice was submitted to WD Claims by email on 20th June, full payment was received in my account on 2nd July, 9 working days later, no need to chase, so very happy with WD Thumbs Up

Glad you were happy with your WD service, myself I would rather collect the car and pay nothing using LR warranty as i have done on several occasions previously regarding ARB bushes, and give them their loan car back with no charge! But i guess you pay your money, take your chance Wink 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

You raise many valid points, but I was swayed by WD covering the known Crank issue unlike your Approved Policy, plus it was half the cost!

I don’t agree with the crankshaft not being covered on an approved policy. I have the letters and emails stating it is, and will be covered in those circumstances.

I wouldn’t have renewed with them otherwise. I asked the questions, they took them higher and provided the answers. I think a fair few people on the Disco forum have had the same assurances also Wink Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black
