To replace the coupling just the nose cone needs to be removed as long as you can get to the seven bolts that bolt the cone on to the S/C body once the air induction pipes etc. are removed I see no reason to remove the whole S/C from the vehicle/engine.

Cheers col the guys at powerhouse seemed to think they would need to remove the whole thing there seems to be a lot of conflicting stories about how to do this and obviously it would be a lot cheaper to do the job without removing the supercharger |

I do have a brand new nose cone and coupling in my garage somewhere I will dig it out and post a couple of pictures to tomorrow so you can see what they are talking about if it is of any use to you, I bought it as a spare for my own car if I ever needed one, it was around £70.00 from L/R now they are nearer £400.00 for the complete nose cone assy.

That would be much appreciated as this is all new to me and the amount of work they were talking about to remove the whole thing was about 2 to 3 days work which obviously is a lot of labour |

Nose Cone photos, you can see the coupling they are referring to, might be worth checking the shaft bearings whilst it is of as they are known to wear as well I believe, although that may a been the earlier Eaton M112 S/C not the later Eaton TVS one fitted to the 5.0L.

Thanks for the pictures I will contact powerhouse today and see what the quote is and how they intend to proceed personally I can't see the issue of removing the serpantine fan and then removing the nose cone to acess the coupling but then I'm not an engineer

Powerhouse specialise in superchargers, if they say that it has to come off then I reckon it will have to come off..

I had my supercharger pulley changed by powerhouse on Tuesday and can it fault them on anything they are a great company but I think this was the first supercharged range rover sport they had done as they were surprised about clearances and how much easier the job was as I've said there are posts saying people have been able to change the coupling with the supercharger in place |

As the drive belt and induction pipework etc. has to be removed in either case, would it not be logical to remove that first, then see if it is possible to gain access to the bolts that retain the nose cone just to remove that, if not then the whole s/c would need to be removed, briefly looking at the workshop manual there is quite a few bits and pieces to take off to remove the whole s/c. If it is possible to replace in situ. personally I would take that route rather than disturb the various joints gaskets etc. that retain the whole unit.

Then to be fair I am a bit confused I will speak to them Monday and let you know the outcome I have looked for other company's who could do this but there aren't many out there |

The three elongated slots in the coupling locate on the three pins on the end of the nose cone shaft, the other three holes in the coupling locate on pins in the opposing shaft in the supercharger itself.
