The audio from my radio and sat nav all of a sudden stopped working. Inspection by the garage (indi) I took it to reported that the radio head unit is gone (image attached). Labour changes to fit a new one is £133 + vat, but the cost of a new one itself is over a £1000 from Land Rover!!! No way am I going to spend this kind of money to fix this. I just spent £800 a few months back to 'fix' water ingress into the front passenger's footwell, which was reported as due to a blocked drainage pipe for the sun-roof. The pipe itself is about £10 (£20 for both sides) to buy, but about £780 for labour (removing various bits & pieces to access the pipes and removing the seats etc to dry the car), and guess what, I just checked the footwell and it's wet again!!! My AC has been playing up for years (I get it regassed every year, and the gas does not last more than a few weeks before it goes). I have taken it to 3 different garages now (independent Land Rover specialist), and none of them has been able to establish what the issue is. They all believe is probably a leak, but none of them can find this leak (after applying a dye and tracing with UV light)! My central locking is playing up (works intermittently), and at this present time I dread to even take it in to be fixed! These cars are lovely to drive but just too troublesome electronically, and any little issue costs hundreds/thousands to fix! I welcome any suggestion please regarding the cheapest way to get the audio issue fixed, so I can get it fixed and sell the bleeding car! I have had enough of RRS's for now.

There must be plenty in the breakers with all the engines that keep self destructing, that's got to be the best route . Nanocom Evo

The leak is from the windscreen pillar - there is a LR advice on it - easy fix that you can do yourself with some new clips, some sealing foam, sealer - basically the water runs down the inside of the pillar trim and into the holes in the pillar where the trim clips onto the pillar - seals the holes where the clips go in and you stop the water.

As said there is a LR advisory on this - and plenty on this forum on this.

Buy a secondhand unit from eBay and fit it yourself, there are videos on you tube showing how to access it and its pretty straightforward.

but if you have an amplifier under the drivers seat, it could be that.

Mine did this quite often, you could adjust the volume, see the numbers counting up, change channel and source, etc, but no audio output. I would disconnect the battery for a few seconds to fix it, problem went away when i replaced the battery.

I understand there is a hard reset for the electrics in the vehicle by removing the positive and negative battery leads and holding them together for 10 seconds to drain the capacitors, maybe worth a try before shelling out more cash Nanocom Evo
