Do you have the small plipper remote ? If not you have too set it manually via the infotainment screen Thumbs Up

When it starts it whistles followed by ignition & the obvious sound of a heater whirling away - there is also fumes omitted Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Hi,
Although the FBH should check fuel level and battery good before running, it does not always get it right Rolling Eyes

Early Last year I used the remote for the FBH on my way out to work as swmbo was going out in half an hour,
about half an hour later I got a call from her "the car wont start the battery is flat" Censored one cell was bad and running the FBH was enough to kill it.

New Exide AGM fitted and BCM updated Thumbs Up
roll on to last month and the FBH was trying to fire but not running to full burn (no mistaking the sound of the FBH its like a mini jet engine Laughing ) I understood that it can "lock out" after 5 failed attempts, but mine had failed more than that and was still trying.
happy to report covered by warranty and new FBH now fitted
Thumbs Up

Hi,
it will check that both are ok (think its 1/4 tank of fuel) if either is not correct it will not try to run but not Lock out that's if it tries to run but fails
Thumbs Up

I don't have a remote so apart from listening for a whining sound there is no way of knowing if my FBH is do it's job?

How sad is that? RRS (MY13) Santorini Black SDV6 HSE luxuary

Can't you just start the car and let it run for 1 minute.
Switch engine off and go round the front.

You should hear it cooling down.

Well that's how it is in the early models

Don't have mine shown on info screen, (no facility to put it there with IID BT Tool, that I can find?) or remote operation, it just comes on automatically if temperature is 5c or lower, runs I assume for preset time or until temperature of engine has risen.
Another quite obvious sign of FBH running is the smoke coming out from passenger side wheelarch and bonnet.
Been told before now my car is on fire. Whistle John
