another compressor question

what are the benefits of fitting a new compressor? Mine is still working when I want to change the ride-height. If I lower it and put it back to normal height it does so (slowly) and I get a suspension fault that dissappears when I restart. Will the ride quality get better with a new compressor?
thx

I justed checked my compressor and it's already the AMK one. can the suspension fault be caused by the relay?

How old is it (years/miles) ? Relay will prevent it from switching on I believe - if it is running slow - you more likely have clogged dryer or worn piston. How long does it run when you first start car ? The time to go from access to normal mode and fault may be due to a number of reasons - but if you have a leak somewhere you would probably see the car settle on one or more comers after leaving it overnight.

If the compressor is running overtime it will overheat and eventually burn out - you could try a rebuild kit if you like to diy - else a new compressor is probably on the cards very soon ...
