Hot Spot on dash / centre console

Has any one else noticed that the top of the centre console is getting hot after a longish journey ?

There is an area about 10cm round that starts to warm up after about 15minutes and by the time I arrive at work ( 1hour) it is very warm / hot. All round it is still cold.

I have run it with the heating down in case it was a vent pipe and no change . thought I would check to see if this was 'normal' before going back to the dealer

I have exactly the same

Did you figure out if this is a fault or not ?

Cheers,
Matt

This was mentioned in more recent posts. Mine also does it but I haven't got it looked at yet. Another member had his sorted as a side effect of a different fix: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post481605.html#481605 Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Given I've just bought the car I will try and get it back in to be looked at. I'll report back if they can solve.

So I spoke to the dealer on this today.

They have had one other customer complain about - in that case they resorted to getting an identical spec RRS and road testing alongside, only to find that the other car was identical in terms of generating heat in that same place and at the same heat levels (they took measurements).

So sounds like something common and not a "fault" they can do anything about.

I need to decide whether to push it and try and persue or accept this is probably a common issue and little point trying to correct it, and just accept.

Matt

TBH at worst it is an inconvenience that can be avoided by repositioning the leg a little bit. If they need to take things apart to find and insulate the source of this heat then I would prefer to live with it rather than risk getting rattles that didn't exist before! Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Agree

It's something I can live with if I know its not something peculiar with my car alone ....!

Thanks all.
