Halfords 5w30 Synthetic for Ford applications.

Halfords have got a special offer on at the moment on the above oil. 4 litres for £12. Would this be ok to use in a 4.2 Supercharged?

That price doesn't sound particularly cheap.

If you keep an eye on Eurocarparts special offers and discounts it is usually possible to pick up top branded oil like Mobil for about £12 per 5 litres.

Re the suitability of the Halfords own brand - if it meets the specification given in your handbook then it should be fine to use but personally I prefer to stick with the top brands for something as vital to the life of the engine. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

You get what you pay for, personally I use castrol magnatec A1 or A5. I get it off amazon about £23 for 4litres though it varies, but still cheaper than the high street ! 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

I use Mobile 1 about 6 litres comes to around £30.

Just cost me £112.00 + vat. for 8Ltrs. of Castrol Edge A1 5w/20 when had service done by Crapstone Land Rover.
