After speaking with various dealers around me and further afield.. the best i could do was through manchester and being number 7 (not 6 as first told) paulL you are 6th now.. they miscounted the list (duh!!).. however although they only wanted a £500 deposit.. they could not confirm delivery, i.e. said it will be jan, when i have been told by two specialist sourcers, that the cars won't be ready for customer deliveries until Feb, plus they are going to be very thin on the ground in the first 12 months or so (to keep prices and premiums up) therefore, being 7 on the list will mean, that i will probably take delivery May/June 07. Hmm.. im not to sure on this anymore, so haven't committed anywhere, told manchester to hold and am in dialogue with these two sourcers, the one wanted £175 fee now to book, (plus deposit to dealer - prob £500) then 1% + VAT payment within 30 days of delivery of the RRS TDV8, and with no option of bolting this onto the finance, this seems like paying someone for doing not a fat lot.

My M3 should be arriving back end of 2007 - early 2008, but still not sure whether the time frame justifies the purchase or not, i.e. having the car roughly 6-8 months max. Plus the delivery seems a bit too shaky for me, don't want to pay all that cash out for some contacts, but also don't want to wait until may/june. Demos won't be available till 4 months after release, so im really stuck.. few more phonecalls and enquiries i think..
However i am being very tempted by a Porsche 911 C2S (997) for replacement of the RS4 in 6 months or so, it is a car i have been lusting after for a long time, and if i buy used and a good spec, not set to loose that much before the M3 arrives. hmm. . decisions decisions..

TDV8.. dates brought forward apparently.. now available from Nov build dates.. TB can you confirm this? spoken to three dealers, two of which have no wait yet, so car no. 1/2 available right away.. im not paying no broker for anything.. have a choice of two local dealers willing to get me first/second cars, and to put that in writing..

This fits in more with what that chap on the boat was telling us about build times. He said Nov slots with potential delivery not long after.

Ok so stratstone stourbridge.. said yes confirmed.. first car for me.. dec delivery.. i asked to secure car with deposit.. he said yes, we require a £3k deposit up front to take car off sale.. No wonder they have no list!! told him i would go elsewhere..

I think i will settle for 2/3rd car for january delivery from the next batch of cars from the other dealer.. £3k my arse.. i said i was accustomed to a £500 deposit.. he said.. well.. i'll phone you in a couple of days..

Mine has been confirmed for Nov build with delivery in Dec. They have just swapped the £500 deposit I had on the V6 to the V8 could not of been easier .
