I've just gone to change the tailgate struts on my sport and the tailgate slammed down as I removed on end of the gas strut leaving the strut sticking out of the side and the tailgate locked and jammed. I've tried master lock unlock trick but no luck, it's well jammed. Is there any other way to get the tailgate released. Panicking now as the strut is stuck between bodywork and tailgate glass and it all seems under tension! Have you tried pushing down on the tailgate - taking the tension off the strut - do this whilst locking then unlocking the RRS

If possible push around the area of the lock only - is the car doors locked - could you not get someone inside to take the strain off the strut |
