"Invalid Disc" error on stereo

A quick forum search revealed that a few people have had the same problem but I found no solution. May be someone here can offer some advice.

Since the last few days, the stereo system in my RRS has started showing "Invalid Disc" error for all the 6 discs in the CD changer. I have tried ejecting the CDs, cleaning them and re-inserting and sometimes that makes the error go away temporarily but then it comes back. The discs are original, not scratched and had been working fine in the car before. I wouldn't expect all 6 to suddenly develop faults so it's pointing towards the CD player.

I have yet to try a CD/DVD lens cleaner but any suggestions as to what could be causing it would be appreciated, just in case the cleaner doesn't sort this out.

Thanks

There was a thread on here by a chap who managed to fix this I think.....I'll try and find it Smile

My bad.....it was a 'CD error', not 'invalid disc'

Thanks Bean. I didn't find this thread as I was specifically looking for "Invalid Disc". However, as you pointed out mine is a different issue. It selects the discs without any problems but temperamental when it comes to playing.

Hopefully it is just a dirty lens but if not, anyone knows if this sort of thing is covered by the LR Approved warranty? I don't think I will be opening up the unit myself.

Hi, I posted a previous post regarding issues with a new replacement cd unit. This is an update. CDs load but not playing for some reason. The message on screen is INVALID CD. Did you manage to resolve your similar issue? I would be grateful for any tips.

Yes, cleaning the lens didn't work so "resolved" by replacing the whole unit under extended warranty.
