| RRSTDV8 Member Since: 12 Aug 2011 Location: Northamptonshire Posts: 9159      | The usual advice at this stage is to check the intercooler hoses for splits or other damage. They are the two big ones right at the top/front of the engine bay looking like radiator hoses. They are a relatively cheap item to replace if they do show any damage. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

| Paddi Member Since: 06 Jul 2012 Location: Hertfordshire Posts: 1563      | As has been said - check the hoses associated with the turbos; there are two more short 'L' shaped ones under the engine acoustic cover (my local LR dealer says these short ones are a common issue but I've never seen a post about them on this forum!).

 Whistling noise particularly. Maybe if there is a big enough leak it could cause a misfire but TBH I don't know. Usually people report black exhaust smoke on acceleration and some loss of power when a hose is leaking. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE   | ||

My garage is waiting on a two post ramp to be installed, but looks like it could be two more weeks before its fitted and he can lift the body. I know it's possible to remove the pass side head off with the body still on.
