Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

It could be due to switch failure/jammed or switch signal circuit short circuit to ground. Malaysia Boleh!

Thanks Bobby - however the problem persists even when the switch is disconnected so I am a bit of a loss what else the issue could be.

Cheers

The short could be in the unlock wiring circuit itself...meaning the short is unlocking the tailgate glass.
It would be good if you could check the tailgate unlock circuit. Malaysia Boleh!

Yes - I agree but not sure how I would do that - maybe it is time to have an expert look at it but there are none local. There is a dealer but - hmmm - no thanks. 07MY RRS TDV6

Have you a copy of the workshop manual? If not then there is an online version of the Disco 3 one here: http://landrover.workshop-manuals.com/lr3/index.php?id=2521

Might give you some clues. First place I would check for short circuits is where the wiring passes through the flexible grommet things going from the body to the tailgate. You can access by removing the spoiler. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I went out with the multimeter to start tracking the cabling etc but the problem has now gone - there are issues whatsoever. Having been driving around a bit and no issues - all very confusing. 07MY RRS TDV6
