England 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Bali Blue
Rattle/Knocking at low speeds

Hi Martin and all members, I own a 2010 Range Rover Sport3.0 TDV6 HSE(face lift)model, 4th Land Rover I have owned last one being a Disco 3 TDV6, However an annoying rattle/knocking has started which appears to be coming from the front suspension when the vehicle is driven at slow speeds over small potholes or rough areas of road surface. The vehicle has never been off road and has less than 30,000 miles.
Has anyone experienced similar or knows what it could be?
Confused Nev.

Cheers Neil, Main dealer looked at it in march, first said there was nothing wrong but that some RRSports could be prone to annoying rattles that you had to live with Surprised They did however take a look and low and behold it all went quiet for 3 months. But it has started up again Mad At least now I have an idea when I return to them.
Cheers Nev

They may of just shimmed out your ARB bushes, same issue the D3's have.

Might explain why it's come back. ARB links are also a common sale for us. Paul Redding

Cheers Steve,
If shimming out the ARB bushes is what sounds like a quick easy fix, what sort of cost is a replacement? and should this part ware out within 30,000 miles or is this a known land rover fault?
You say this is a common fault with D3,s, same running gear I presume?

The D3 setup is very similar but not quite the same.

RRS prices here - http://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/steering-...t-22-c.asp

Any of these items could be your noise and to be fair we sell this sort of set for every type of car, Corsa, Focus or indeed a Rangie. Paul Redding

Hi Bobby,
Thanks for the info, I've always assumed the vehicle had dynamic Response however the noise coming from under the front is more of a knock than a squeak or creak, also the warning light has not illuminated.
I was in Kuala Lumpur last November lovely place enjoyed the visit.
Cheers Nev.

A knock would suggest the ARB bushes initially. They are effectively wear-and-tear items. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had ARB bushes changed under warranty by my local LR dealer. That was under the Approved Extended warranty. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You could refer your dealer to LTB00241v7, Front Suspension Knock Improvement.
This TSB concerns RRS vehicles with Dynamic Response only, Model Year: 2007-2011
VIN: 7A983118-BA716646

This addresses "an audible knock heard from inside the vehicle when driving along a poorly maintained uneven road surface, e.g. with one wheel driving over a drain cover, with the vehicle driven straight ahead".

The remedy is to install the Mass Absorber Kit and replace the existing Dynamic Response Bushes and Clamps.
