One more shot in the dark.......... in the very early days of RRS there were problems like this that were traced back to the earthing strap for the gearbox - it had come loose and fallen off. Freelander2 also suffered this problem at one stage. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I have the same problem, mine exists when I have opened and closed the doors a few times, getting kids seats in and out and alike. - I will be checking the tailgate switch.

Dealership states that the battery is fine.

Clarksons recent Top Gear review of the RR also infers known problems with batteries going flat: http://www.topgear.com/uk/jeremy-clarkson/...2013-03-18 "Also, I am assured that the battery no longer goes flat every time you want to go somewhere"

I wonder about the brake light switch? SWMBO reported that the brake lights were on dimly when she hopped out of the car after it failed to start. I know that this switch has caused other issues and is a fine quality Ford part Rolling with laughter My car has just been returned again with a shrug of the shoulders and "we cant find anything wrong". This all getting rather frustrating.

Have they seen your vehicle with any faults or are they going from your veerabl communication.

Land Rover have actually seen my vehicle play up and issues with the Nav Screen and the drainage but are still unable to fix it.

They have advised the upper tailgate switch has been reaplaced and they have been leaving the car over night and starting it the following day and it appears to be fine.

Sods Law when it gets to me I will have the issues again I feel.

Lets see what happens.

Meccles, if your car is under waranty why dont you get them to replace your car?

Ahh because the law in OZ doesn't require them to. Went as far as barristers LR are doing all they are legally required. We have no real recourse Sad The law is very weak in this regard in OZ All they have to do is "fix it" as per what they believe is fixed. To go further requires court cases etc which are very expensive and not guaranteed results. SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

Did you get this sorted, I have the exactly the same problem.

I am waiting for a tail gate switch.

The sat nav appears to run on the same side of the loom.

Have you tried pulling the fuse to see if there is still a power drain Tdv8 range rover sport

He did - but posted it on another thread - see this link http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic30527.html

The upper tailgate switch is easy to fit but strongly recommend taking off the upper tailgate trim panel so you can access the switch with less chance of damaging the thing when you install it . Be prepared to find all sorts of filth and rust under the trim panel. (apologies if you already knew all that). 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Tailgate switched repalced at land rover however same problem persists.

The issue causing the drain is the satnav/radio freezing and doesnt turn off at times.

Land Rover still dont know what's causing this at all, if they haven't a clue who has!

Harry have you changed the battery.

I had the same problem, battery tested fine and held charge but kept going flat next mroning after i changed the tailgate switch.

Local garage said you have a fault cell, borrow a battery and see what happens been fine since.

Landrover were going to chnage the ECU! Tdv8 range rover sport

The main issue now is that the Nav screen and radio freeze and do not turn off at times.
