Hi all,

I've been thinking of getting a set of the post 2010 on LED rear lights for my 2006 RRS for a while now.

I happened to be following a new RRS on the motorway today and noticed that there didn't appear to be any reflectors in the lights themselves and the bumper had two mounted in it instead.

Now the pre 2010 rear bumpers don't have any reflectors in them but that’s OK as the original light units have definitely got them at the bottom just below the reversing lights.

So my question is - those that have fitted the LED lights have you got any red rear reflectors now?

Im planning the same mod and hadn't thought or even noticed the reflectors.
This has got me wondering, are rear reflectors an mot requirement?

Yes rear reflectors are needed for an mot Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

Not a real problem as I'm keeping the old lights anyway so it'll be a quick switch before the mot.

Also beware as police officers use it as an excuse to pull you and give you a rectification notice and fine !

Having had a few several years ago on a previous car i'd tinted the rear lights on, i can't see them picking on rrs owners... Why?.. Because i can....

You could just have a stick on reflector (possibly 1 each side) for the mot, and take that off after the mot  Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

I didn't even pick up on the reflector issue when i swapped mine over for LED's Neither did my dealer when they MOT'd my motor

I've just checked and I'm sure the lower quarter section is a rear reflector (next to the fog)

Well thats what i was told officer when i bought my lights.

+ 2 & passed MOT ??? as soon as the weathers eased I am fitting the 12MY rear bumper which does have the refectors fitted.  16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

take a photo with a flash on, and see what the reflections like, might get enough back to fool the MOT or police
