No it will cost you again if you sell it. As you can only put it on a car that is registered to you. I think it is about £25.00 |

You can put a reg on a car that is either assigned to the holder of the retention certificate, or the designated nominee on the certificate.

All you have to do is sign section 1 without including a car reg number as I assume you won't have it from the buyer. Then complete the nominee section (think is section2 or might be 3) add the buyers name but it needs to the name who their car is registered to and where the plate will be going. Then they have to take the retention cert. with their log book and £25 fee and that's it, dvla will put it on the car the same day
