We have had no garbage collection here for 3 weeks. Why? Because the binmen might slip on the snow........... no alternative was suggested like taking our rubbish to the recycling centre BUT when I suggested that maybe we could take all the wheelie bins 100ft to the main road maybe they would collect and empty them................ the reply was if you can get them there in 20 minutes we will empty them from the main road - me and 2 neighbours had 14 wheeliebins down at the roadside in about 5 minutes, sure enough the truck came and emptied them.
Snow is back on here so that will another fortnight before we get a rubbish collection - because of fresh snow! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The bin men have been on strike here since the second week in December so we have a stash of garbage bags in the garage. The local recycling park has started to charge for recycling since 1st january and already you can see fly tipping along the side roads  Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

After the snow last Feb I bought my wife a pair of Snow Chains for her boots as she walks 4 miles each way to work.
